July 2017 book haul!

Hello! Come see what I’m reading next month!

July is RIGHT around the corner, and you know what that means: a whole new month of reading! (or at least, this is what I think it means!). IN order to prepare for this coming month, here are a few books I’ll be reading in July!

Spot me on a beach towel with one of these bad boys (;

I’m a huge advocate for buying books in bookstores. I almost never order books online from amazon. Something about going into a bookstore and touching the books, smelling the pages please tell me I’m not the only one who does this, and getting to thumb through the pages. I love going into bookstores.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books, or are planning to! We could start our own little book reading club!

And follow me on Goodreads!

I don’t always update what I’m currently reading, or when I’ve finished a book, but it’ll get up there eventually!

Alright, so here’s the list of books I’ll be burying my nose into this coming July:

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine

Dead Girls Society by Michelle Krys

When It’s Real by Erin Watt

The Flipside by Shawn Johnson

A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston

Kings Cage by Victoria Aveyard

Fly by Night by Francis Hardinge

Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins

Hopefully I won’t be the only one reading these this coming July (;

First Book Haul!

Of course, this is not my first book haul, but it’s my first one on here! And I am so so very excited to post it, because I want you all to know what I’m reading, what’s good, and what I’m interested in. And oh, am I so very interested in this weeks haul.

*ALSO. I know on youtube, book haul videos talk about books they’ve read, but I’m doing this differently. I’m going to put books I’ve bought and am currently reading. To see reviews of books, I’m going to have a separate section.*

Okay, so let us get started with what I have here! (obviously I have quite a mix ohoho)

Vengeance Road, written by Erin Bowman. Of course, this cover is absolutely GORGEOUS. I mean, why else would I buy it? Just kidding. Actually, I’m not. So, this book is apparently a YA western about a girl named Kate who is seeking vengeance for the death of her father. I have been told there is romance in this book, since Kate is eighteen years old, and there are some lovely shootouts, saloons, and good old fashion western action. Oh, and there’s a twist: Kate is pretending to be a guy.I am currently reading this one, and so far, it’s good. Like, I’m into it, even though westerns are NOT my thing. Like, you’ll never find me reading a western, but this is good. Like, you won’t be disappointed.

So this is Friends with Boys, by Faith Erin Hicks. And yes, it is a graphic novel about a girl starting high school and befriending two outsiders while she’s also being haunted by a ghost. Now, I’m just getting into graphic novels, and honestly I judge them by the art inside. I probably couldn’t be interested in a graphic novel with art I’m not into, tbh. But yeah, this seems promising on the ghost factor. Also, the boy with the mohawk is kinda hot looking so yeah, looking forward to that as well.

Nimona, by Noelle Stevenson. Honestly, Noelle is like my fave artist right now, so this is why I grabbed this one. I loved her art on the cover of the book Fangirl, and she writes Lumberjames, which I love, so yeah. I grabbed this graphic novel. It’s about a sidekick and a supervillain, and I love supervillains. So overall I’m excited about this. There’s dragons, magic, all the works so I’m excited.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender, by Leslye Walton. Again, gorgeous cover. It shines in the light, and ugh it is honestly book cover goals! This one is about a girl named Ava who is born with wings like a bird, and her twin brother Henry who is mute. It’s also about love, though I’m not sure how much it plays a role in the book. If anything, the cover is so pretty I don’t really mind about whether or not romance is present. Girl with wings? How cool!

 LumberJanes is a graphic novel series about fives girls at this summer camp who battle supernatural creatures while working together. I’ve read the first two, and this is the third in the installment of bindups. (you can purchase them individually as single editions). I really suggest reading this series because it is so amazing. The art is awesome, and I love the characters together!

You, by Caroline Kepnes is probably the book I’m most excited about. It’s written in the point of view of a psychopath obsessed with a girl. And I love these sorts of characters, and I love getting into their heads. Also, psychological thrillers are like, one of my favorite genres. And it was on sale at the book store. It’s a pretty thick book, but it’s something I cannot wait to dig into.

The Somnambulist, by Essie Fox. So, I didn’t buy this, I’m borrowing it, but I’m throwing it in here because I want to read it soon. The cover is amazing, and come on: I’m all about covers honestly. It’s about a haunted house that holds dark secrets, about lost of love, murder and madness, all in one book. So, right down my ally tbh.

So there is this weeks book haul! I’m so excited to start reading these, as soon as I have time, and you better believe that another haul is coming soon. I honestly spend all my money on books, which is a real problem because I spend a lot of money on books. Oops.

I will post reviews on this book later, as these are newly bought books that are ready for reading. I’m pretty excited about them! If you’ve read any of these, feel free to comment how you liked them, but please no spoilers!

Happy Tuesday, XOXO
